is from Arlington, TX. She moved to Norman to attend The University of Oklahoma, where she earned a BA in Human Relations. Ashley’s connection to Thunderbird Clubhouse began when she joined as a member in 2016. With the support of Clubhouse, she was able to gain professional experience in the mental health field and became a staff generalist at Clubhouse in 2018. Prior to working at Clubhouse, she worked as a case manager and peer recovery support specialist for children and young adults at COCMHC- Child and Family.
“I call myself an accidental abstract artist because my art abilities emerged unintentionally. I discovered that things don’t always have to look as they appear, and began exploring distorted images using intricate lines and shapes. All of my art is intuitive and without plan. To me, art is meditative and a way to clear my mind. “
As a local artist she is passionate about coordinating our Artist Collective Program. The Collective holds a special place in her heart, as it was this opportunity that encouraged her to engage in the work and take on leadership tasks within the Clubhouse. As staff, Ashley is now able to support emerging artists at Clubhouse.
